A 30-year-old man had been arrested in connection with his death.

The headline makes it sound like the stabbing had something to do with the Jazz Festival, or occurred in the vicinity of the festival itself. A bit sensationalistic...

      Gordon - 2012-04-02 08:43

Yep, could have been: Man stabbed after catching taxi Man killed after crossing road Man killed after eating chicken takeaway Man murdered after taking piss With job slaughter at 24, I am starting to think that the Ed's get their kids to write the headlines on the way to school in the morning

  • Ryan - 2012-04-02 08:25

This has nothing to do with the Jazz festival...poor news, News24!

      nsda29 - 2012-04-02 09:09

Purpose served, you read the article. That was the whole purpose. If they hadn't mention Jazz Festival you wouldnt have bothered reading!

      DuToitCoetzee - 2012-04-02 09:22

      @nsda29. Very true.

  • Ben - 2012-04-02 08:27

If ever this is agenda setting!! Well done for the organisers of the jazz festival. Please news24 do not do this! The murder had NOTHING to do with the festival.

  • Kimon - 2012-04-02 08:27

WTF???? what does this have to do with the Jazz Festival???? SO STUIPID News24!!!

      MorrisTech - 2012-04-02 11:02

I think the organizers of the festival should do something about this!indeed WTF.... absolutly f-all to do with the festival!Dumb shhhhhh

  • hofmeen - 2012-04-02 08:33

What an incredibly misleading headline. Seriously, this is one of those clear cases of sensationalist reporting that detracts from the seriousness of this 26 year old losing his life. There is clearly no connection between the Jazz Festival and his death, which occurred in Hangberg. What kind of moron would link this event to the Jazz Festival and create the impression that one of the big tourist attracting events in Cape Town is somehow linked to this unfortunate incident?

  • mlaeren - 2012-04-02 08:33

"Man stabbed after WWII" "Man stabbed before he died" "Man stabbed, suspect arrested -SAPA"

  • Karen - 2012-04-02 09:01

Why is the media so set on bad publicity for Cape Town? What has this got to do with the Jazz Festival? Your reporting is disgusting, it's like reading a house for sale advert.

  • Tshe - 2012-04-02 09:06

Anger Management needs to be compulsory in our educational curriculum to avoid future unfortunate loss of life.

  • PumaFred - 2012-04-02 10:21

    Gutter press. Pathetic reporting.

  • Richard - 2012-04-02 11:21

This is extremely sloppy reporting news24 as the incident had absolutely nothing to do with the festival. The Jazz festival attracts visitors from all over the world, and the organisers work tirelessly to promote it at as world class event. What does this headline actually achieve? Shame on you.

  • Janice - 2012-04-02 11:45

The Headline is utter BULLs*#t!!! I live there and the deceased is a friend of mine! He isnt even 26!!! The Jazz Fest was Friday night and he was Stabbed Sunday morning!! Get the actual CORRECT story News24!! or don't bother spreading false news.

  • Andre - 2012-04-02 15:21

It is in part because of drivel like this being published that the ANC wants to "regulate" the media - poor and opportunistic article. News 24 should be ashamed.
