Man struck by car, dragged 100m before dying

Cape Town – A man was killed on Friday night after being dragged for about 100m by a vehicle in Krugersdorp, paramedics said.

The 30-year-old pedestrian was found dead on Adcock Road.

Netcare911 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the man with life threatening injuries. He died soon after, said spokesperson Chris Botha.

It is believed that the man was dragged by a vehicle for about 100m after he was hit.

The driver of the vehicle was not on the scene. Police are investigating.

Meanwhile, in a second incident in Krugersdorp, a man is fighting for his life after a taxi veered off the road and rolled off an embankment at around 03:30 on Friday.

Netcare911's  Botha said rescuers worked for 30 minutes to get the injured patient out of the wreckage.

He was placed on a ventilator and transported to a nearby hospital.
