Man wounded in Muldersdrift shooting

Johannesburg - A man was wounded in a shooting on the N14 near the R563 in Oak Tree AH, Muldersdrift, on Wednesday morning, paramedics said.

"Netcare 911 paramedics, other services and the Krugersdorp fire department arrived at the scene and found a man lying on the ground," Netcare 911 spokesperson Santi Steinmann said in a statement.

"Upon assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained serious injuries during the shooting incident."

The man was treated on the scene and taken to hospital.

Police were investigating.

Also on Wednesday, in a separate shooting incident, Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said a man died when he was shot in Manning Road in Durban on Tuesday night.

"Netcare 911 paramedics received the call at around 22:48 and when they arrived, found a man still seated in his vehicle in a parking lot," he said.

"After the investigation, it was found that the man had sustained a fatal wound and had tragically passed away before our arrival."

The cause of the shooting was unknown. Police were investigating.
