Johannesburg - Former South African president Nelson Mandela "is in good spirits and well" after being hospitalised on Saturday with a long-standing abdominal complaint, a report said.

"I can assure you that the former president is in good spirits and well," South African presidential spokesperson Mac Maharaj told the private eNews channel.

MAc MAharaj - now there's a trustworthy source! The master of discguises is probably patenting some kind of robotic device at this very moment, to be able to stuff into our poor old liberator's lifeless corpse on the day of his passing. Without it, the ANC will will have run out of Liberation liberation capital and will revert to a robotized Madiba as a form of overdraft!

ZOMG! What The Foccia did I just read?

      Nicola Erasmus - 2012-02-25 12:38

Rather ask what the "Foccia" is Gareth smoking...? I think I've now heard it all...

      Gareth - 2012-02-25 12:40

Jeeves, the ANC play the 'Mandela Card' time and time again. Wheeling him out at their celebrations, before elections, on their 'touring state leaders itineraries', willy nilly! When he finally passes away, what will they do? Is there anyone left in that collapsing burning Trojan horse of a party that they can shove to the front row and say "stand there and remind people that the ANC used to be an icon of freedom and people's power!" ? I don't think so. They will battle to find a credible brand icon after Mandela is resting eternally!

Dear Gareth. Epic insight is epic. Your intelligence is intimidating to mere mortals like me. Please remember me when you are stinking filthy rich. Your good friend, Jeeves.

How is BBC saying that Madiba had surgery over night.

      Gareth - 2012-02-25 12:44

BBC are not known for their thorough investigative journalism! Mind you, they probably didn't interview that lying, conniving, cross-dressing one-eyed snake-in-the-grass Maharaj, meaning they might be better informed than News24 on this occasion.

If Mac said it is is suspect. @Mr.Mandela - Get well soon!

  • Glyn - 2012-02-25 13:08

Without Mandela the anc will have passed it's "Best By" date! He was the anc's "Best Buy". Now the world can say "Good Bye" to the anc!
