Mandla will be expelled - king

2013-07-06 19:20

Johannesburg - AbaThembu King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo says he has lost all respect for Mandla Mandela after Madiba’s eldest grandson became embroiled in a bitter feud with his own family, Eyewitness News reported on Saturday.

The King, a cousin of Nelson Mandela's, continued his public condemnation of Mandla after a few days ago calling him "opportunistic".

Speaking to Eyewitness News in Qunu, the king said there was no time for negotiations with Mandla, who is chief of the Mvezo Traditional Council.

"I can surely promise you that he will be ejected [from the clan] – he will not just be removed.”

He was quoted as saying he couldn't respect someone who didn't respect his culture or his family.
In a surprise move on Monday, Dalindyebo indicated he planned to join the Democratic Alliance as he was not happy with the ANC.

Dalindyebo said he believed the current government had failed the people of South Africa.

He said it was time citizens supported "credible leaders".

"The government has betrayed our people; the government has betrayed our kingdom. We believe there is no reason to back the ANC because it has been enjoying our support and abusing it.

It is high time we gave our support to credible leaders."

  • Jonathan Woods - 2013-07-06 19:26

Glad to see another prominent person condemning the ANC. Their time is definitely up!

      Kortbroek Du Plessis - 2013-07-07 07:19

I like this king, he sounds like a sensible kinda guy!

      Kusile Ndobe - 2013-07-07 08:16

@Espienne, I do not see them handing it over without blood being spilled.

      Kortbroek Du Plessis - 2013-07-07 09:28

What are you doing on news24 site then if you think what they publish is bias? I think you should be reading the Gupta's "The New Age" you should be able to find your Pro-ANC (cANCer) orientated reading material over there where Zuma and the ANC are hailed as a saints and saviours of Africa! The ANC feeds them enough million rand business breakfasts to make sure of that.

      Michael Ntsh - 2013-07-07 09:33

Sis Jonathan, Kings are all of a sudden credible to you when it suits you?

      yaya188 - 2013-07-07 10:14

I am sure this creature, (the most polite word I can think of here) cares not a wit about his reputation, stance, title. He is motivated entirely by money, and his history speaks for itself.

      Hawkeye Pierce - 2013-07-07 11:30

et al "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely" God forbid that either party be so dominant that the elections are a for gone conclusion. What people don't understand about the above quote is that many who have been corrupted by power have made this statement before they had power. The saddest day for SA would be when it became a completely "one political party" system. If that day were ever to come you couldn't imagine the corruption. But then if that day were to come you wouldn't see most of it because it would be covered up, that is until the day that some group decided to have a coup with the usual bloodbath. Kusile beware the "usual hammering" of the DA by the ANC if that happens then the ANC will hammer you and the rest of the country.

      Linds Ron-House - 2013-07-07 13:19

@Jonathan, the dagga smoking king? That guy has a loose screw, you can't take him seriously. Just read up on him. In fact he was convicted of murder - a conviction he is currently appealing.

      Linds Ron-House - 2013-07-07 13:25

@Kortbroek, sensible guy just because he wants to join the DA? Do yourself a favour and read up on this king, I'm pretty sure you'll revise your statement thereafter.

  • Johan Jacobs - 2013-07-06 19:32

I foreseen another political party in the making.

      Mandlisto - 2013-07-06 19:52

What political party?I think you cannot see foresee properly

I don't know...maybe the LONMP party? Legend Of Nelson Mandela Party? Just joking and I am not disrespectful against Madiba. But anything is possible these days.

  • bishopbishop35 - 2013-07-06 19:41

Yes thank you king this youngster dishonors his grandfathers legacy

      Elsbietta Mansie - 2013-07-07 02:52

Maybe he can return to becoming a disk jockey -- a job he apparently enjoyed. That's the problem with "inheriting" a position you don't want to have -- you don't do a good job.

  • Elliot Menziwa - 2013-07-06 20:25

Mandla is not only a chief but also an Anc m.p you are playing with fire, buyelekhaya. watchout your faked position is not safe. Abathembu are not supposed to be kings in the eastern cape kingship belong to a xhosa, your king is in kzn

      Njabz - 2013-07-06 23:27

Please elaborate on this. Sounds interesting.

  • Johan_Swart - 2013-07-06 20:26

I see no real leaders in this country , the game is wide open for a true leader to wipe them off the board and bring order to this chaos

  • Kwena Molekoa - 2013-07-06 20:27

King Dalindeyebo , you are my kinda King . Not like someone who sitting on his lazy bum and marrying young girls young enough to be his great - grand daughters whiles the stupid Anc waste our tax money on him . The only time you hear from him is when he demands more money !

  • Zipho DjFistulae Hlubi - 2013-07-06 20:31

The funny thing is when all this moving of bodies started Madiba was still very well healthwise n he never had any problem wit it bt now that Madiba wants to be burried by his kid's graveside n now dat he's not well enuf to speak for himself. All of a sudden what Mandla did was wrong. The truth is Madiba's kid see their father grave as a tourist attraction n if he's to b burried in Mvezo, Mandla is going to hv more say. If you really think about it why didnt Madiba have a problem with what Mandla did. All I see is Madiba's kids trying to paint a bad picture of Mandla to South African citezens who don't take time to analyze situations. For starters these grown kids complained about their trust being mishandled all of which they didnt tell their father while he was well. They are just greedy and want to hog all the cash to themselves

The ANC was there before you were born and it was there before you became the king

  • Sipho Shabalala - 2013-07-06 20:42

Are these statements made under the influence of dagga. Prolonged dagga smoking shrinks the brain. His majesty's position must shrink to a chief, Mandla must take over the reign.

  • Elvis Nqoro - 2013-07-06 20:47

I fail to understand King buyelekhaya, at the time the bones were dug from qunu to mvezo , he was here in mtata he never call any meeting try to discuss the issue in question. He is forgetin one thing, mandla is 100 percent better because he never be associated with murdering any human being. King marajwana Chief is unlikely to be expelld, ayizo politics where u get expel now and then

Onde day the deny anybody else a culture with this primitive rainbow nation idea the next day it is ancestors and all sorts off barbarian sentiments

  • Muke Matshaba - 2013-07-06 21:27

No matter what the royal council do to to Mandla,,the fact remain is that he will still remain Mandelas eldest grandson.

  • Robert Burroughs - 2013-07-06 21:29

Glad to an ANC supporter whose eyes have been opened to their lack of leadership and honesty.

  • Muchasura Chando - 2013-07-06 21:44

This so called King was there when Mandla exhumed these graves two years ago. Mandela was still well when all thiswas done. Now his daughters without respect and care are buying all relatives including the "once upon a time there was Winnie the drankard" . They even lie to the kangaroo courts of SA that believed them and made this an urgent thing and yet many criminal cases are being postponed. Its high time these vultures know that SA belongs to all who live in it and not them the Makaziwes only. Nxx

  • Feik Mc Heither - 2013-07-06 22:42

@Leonard, you are wrong. Please do yourself a favour and read a bit of African History and you will know that we DID HAVE and STILL HAVE (These examples are in Venda, but same applies to all African Tribes, which I hope some people will add up here): King- Khosi, Kgosi etc. Headman-Nduna or Gota. Queen=Mutanuni IT"S GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR QUEEN OR THE KING WHO DO HAVE THEIR OWN ISSUES UP THERE TO. (OOOPS, SORRY CAP LOCKS). The history of the Kindom of Mapumbubwe dates back to pre-colonial Southern Africa (1075-1220). And so are other rich African Kingdoms (KING-DOMS); Egypt, Ethiopia to mention but a few. When the Europeans seeked trade in the West Africa, they engaged with Osei-Tutu of the Ashanti Empire or the Kingdom of the Asanteman. History my's vast.
