Durban - Police have launched a manhunt for three men who opened fire on a farmer and his brother, killing one of them, on a farm north of KwaDukuza in KwaZulu-Natal.

Police spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said the farmer and his brother were held up on their farm in the Nyoni area, about 40km north of KwaDukuza (Stanger).

Naicker said the men, armed with assault rifles, entered the farm and shot at the 54-year old farmer and his 56-year old brother.

They then fled, stealing two rifles from the farm.

The farmer’s brother died on the farm while the farmer was taken to hospital.

Naicker said police are investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and robbery.
