Mdluli not out of the woods yet

Johannesburg - The court's decision not to charge suspended crime intelligence boss Richard Mdluli for orchestrating the death of a love rival had no bearing on internal disciplinary proceedings, police said on Sunday.

"The SA Police Service would like to place on record that the outcome of the inquest in question has no bearing on the internal disciplinary process that is in progress," police spokesperson Brigadier Phuti Setati said in a statement.

"We further wish to confirm that Lieutenant General Mdluli remains suspended."

The Boksburg Magistrate's Court found on Friday there was not enough evidence to implicate Mdluli and three others in the death of Oupa Ramogibe.

Ramogibe died in February 1999 after marrying Mdluli's mistress, Tsidi Buthelezi.

Were there other reasons for the suspension other than this case? They must just let the man report to duty to work for his salary since it's clear that he will eventually return.

What is wrong with News 24??? "not enough evidence" as you report is not the same as the truth which id "no evidence"!!! With your filthy prpaganda, you want to make it look as if Mdluli is actually guilty, but will get away beacause of technicalities, when in fact he is innocent. Shame on News 24!
