Media, community pack Bredasdorp court

Cape Town - Members of the media and Bredasdorp community descended on the regional court for the appearance of two men accused of raping and murdering Anene Booysen, Eyewitness News reported on Monday.

Booysen, 17, was gang-raped, mutilated and murdered just over a week ago. She died in hospital after managing to identify one of her attackers.

The incident has outraged the country with President Jacob Zuma calling for the harshest possible sentence for the attackers.

The State wants to consolidate the men’s cases so they can be tried together, Eyewitness News reported.

I hope that ENews is going to cover this. Was very disappointed that they continued to show the story of Zimbabwe's new hangman, but had taken all raped concerned stories off of the air on their late night channel on friday. A country up in arms and it was ignored.

In South Africa - The media is just an instrument in the hand of the ruling party. The same happened under the previous regime.

eNCA is not in the hands of the ruling party.

An eye for an eye should apply in cases like this.

Death penalty takes too long, just throw him off the 5th floor. "Accidents" are faster.

@buti according to various websites it is> One incident does not all of a sudden make it a bad place. Are you one of the people that is taking every small little thing to try and discredit the DA?
