Cape Town - Four men will appear in a Western Cape court for allegedly brutally assaulting a woman and hacking her to death with a panga, it was reported on Wednesday.

The Daily Voice reported that Sinodia Schutt, 32, was found dead in Saldanha at the end of February.

She had a dislocated jaw and had been stabbed in the chest and back. Her hands and forearms were wounded from trying to ward off blows.

Schutt had reportedly been in the process of trying to evict people from her home at the time of her death.

The newspaper reported that, hours before the assault, she sent her mother Christie Schutt, 53, the text message: "Marlon [Morsag] from Eerste Hopland is on his way to me, so if anything happens just know he was here. Don't phone now, I will phone you mom. Love you."

Marlon "Morsag" van Wyk, Sharief Padayachee, Jerome Januarie and Ricardo Williams will appear in the Vredenburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
