Johannesburg - The military has warned of a scam selling desperate people empty promises of reintegration into the SA National Defence Force.

Spokesperson Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga said on Thursday there were no plans to integrate former soldiers and jobless young people into the defence force.

The integration process was concluded in December 2002, he said.

He urged people to report the culprits to nearest police station.

They were active in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, North West, Free State, Mpumalanga, and Northern Cape.

Taking in young people and teaching them discipline can't be a bad idea. This will instill discipline for the future and lead to better citizens. But first find disciplined members in the SANDF - not so easy now!

What about people who served the army in 1998, hoping to get contracts because they were called VMS.They are now jobless and still strong they only served for one year(unfortunate).
