Cape Town - Minki van der Westhuizen got to the church only ten minutes late this weekend to marry businessman Constant Visser in an intimate ceremony.

Van der Westhuizen, 23, one of the county's most glamorous beauties and Visser, 36, are already on honeymoon at an undisclosed destination.

They were married in the central Dutch Reform Church in Stellenbosch on Saturday. There were only a few famous faces among the 220 guests. The rest were close friends and family.

South Africa's first Big Brother winner Ferdinand Rabie and his wife Colene, who is Visser's sister, also celebrated the day with the couple.

Other well-known faces included Michelle McLean, Shaleen Surtie-Richards and Jo-Ann Strauss.

Van der Westhuizen was reportedly escorted from her car to the church by security guards with umbrellas, to avoid the flashing cameras.

Guests weren't willing to talk about the day, but one, who asked to remain anonymous, described it as "a fairytale".

"It was a fantastic day. Everything was perfect. The people enjoyed themselves, and Minki looked like a princess in a fairytale."

Word is it took designer Charlene Sauerman 400 hours to create the R50 000 wedding dress.

Visser wore a Fabiani suit with a pink tie.

Van der Westhuizen had two bridesmaids and two flowergirls.

Her spokesperson Andrew Farr said it was definitely not the end of her modelling career.

She will star in a local movie to be released in November with Colin Moss, Gina Athans and Cokey Falkow and will also feature in SA Sports Illustrated's swimsuit edition.
