Cape Town - The parents of 4-year-old Shaskia Michaels remain hopeful that the missing Mitchells Plain girl will be found alive.
The little girl disappeared last Thursday outside her grandparents' home in Tafelsig, Mitchells Plain in Cape Town.

Two men were questioned in connection with Michaels’s disappearance but have since been released, Eyewitness News reported.

However, authorities are still looking for a man named Robert Sylvester, in the hopes he can help find her.

Residents held a candlelit vigil for the child and her neighbour Kauthar Bobbs who disappeared in October last year.

A reward of R50 000 has been offered for an arrest in connection with the disappearance of Michaels, and Bobbs, by Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille, Sapa reported last Sunday.

"As a parent, I can only imagine what Shaskia's family is going through. I will continue to do everything I can to assist. I hope that the reward money will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the perpetrators," said De Lille in a statement.

Anyone with information can phone Warrant Officer Julies at the Mitchells Plain police station on 079 894 1548 or 021 370 1618.
