Johannesburg - The body of a woman who was missing for a week was found on Sunday in a shallow grave in Sweetwaters near Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Phumzile Precious Mkhize, 42, was last seen at work in KwaMashu on 6 June, Colonel Jay Naicker said.

She was leaving with a man and they left in her car.

"On Sunday [8 June] her family realised that she was missing and reported her missing to police," Naicker said.

Mkhize's car was recovered by police and three men were arrested on Monday.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on Saturday and her body was found on Sunday.

The men are expected to appear in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
