Johannesburg - Two men died and two were critically injured when they were attacked by Diepsloot community members, north of Johannesburg, in the early hours of Monday morning, Johannesburg emergency management services said.

"The men were accused of stealing in the Diepsloot area and the community went looking for them and started beating them," spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi said.

"All four men suffered multiple injuries, including head and spinal injuries. Two died on the scene and the other two were taken to the Tembisa hospital."

Mulaudzi said the incident was handed over to the police to investigate.

He appealed to the community to not take justice into their own hands and let the law runs its course.

Don't do crime!... The rest you all know

Lesson here? We need more reliable police. Crime targets all areas, the rich, the middle class and the poor. The sad thing is, if somebody approaches me in the street, my immediate concern is for my own safety. It should not be that way. Things need to change.

That is very painful... But what if someone is not guily and gets killed? how do we prevent people from harming innocent whilst dealing with criminals?

This is happening more often. We are all fed up with crime and it doesn't really help that the police are not doing nearly as much as they should.

  • Johnny - 2012-03-20 14:20

Maybe if the law ACTUALY run its course like its supposed to, things like this wont happen. Its only a matter of time before these sort of things occur more often. People are sick and tired of crime and the Cops are doing Jack Squat about it!
