2012-10-11 13:42

Johannesburg - Soccer player Bryce Moon's murder trial was postponed in the Randburg Magistrate's Court on Thursday after the State indicated it was not ready to proceed.

Both the State and defence had been scheduled to present their closing arguments on Thursday.

"The prosecutor [Roger Mareume] is still preparing his closing arguments," magistrate Vincent Pienaar said.

Moon faces charges of murder, alternatively attempted murder, drunken driving, as well as reckless or negligent driving.

The 26-year-old allegedly hit pedestrian Mavis Ncube while driving his Mercedes-Benz down Katherine Street in Sandhurst in 2009.

She was taken to the Morningside Clinic, where she died of her injuries.

The case was postponed to Friday.
