It's accidents like these which should be prevented by means of better driving. I mean the people who drive cars and trucks of course who should be more aware of their surroundings. R.I.P. dude. Ride safe, keep visible to other road users!

if bikers stop speeding and splitting the lane when the traffic is flowing freely and only split when the traffic is bumper to bumper and slow, most bike accidents will not happen.

Although I agree with many of the comments above, I cannot help but notice how badly many of the motorcyclists drive. I do not condone how badly car and truck drivers steer their cars, but I do notice many of these drivers are just too busy playing with their cellphpones, radios, books, coffee, to notice something as small as a motor cycle on the side of the road. Too many of my friends have been killed by careless, unobservant and plain bad drivers. RIP. Hopefully a day will come when there are special lanes for motor cyclists on the highways.

And for all you who blame the bikers in traffic, statistics prove thar 4 out of every 5 accidents involving bikes, the cage driver was responsible. FACT!!!!!

Atterbury road in Pretoria East is like a Motor Cycle race track. Huge machines with no number plates literally' terrorising' most other road users throughout the day. Seems like it is 'cool' to reach the next set of traffic lights in the shortest possible time, starting with a 'wheelie'. Please motor cycle drivers, obey the rules of the road and the death toll for bike riders 'will' decrease.

If every driver obeyed the rules of the road there would be far fewer accidents, but as long as there are people who think "IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN TO ME" there will always be deaths on the road. South Africans are amongst the worst drivers I have every seen. Reminder: I must get a camera for my car's dashboard.
