Durban - A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control of his bike on the M19 near Blair Atholl in Durban on Tuesday, paramedics said.

“Crisis Medical paramedics arrived on scene shortly after the collision, however the gentleman had suffered extensive injuries and sadly there was nothing they could do for him. He was declared dead on arrival,” spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said.

In another incident, 9 people were hurt when a bakkie overturned on the St Faiths road near Port Shepstone.

KZN Emergency Medical Services spokesperson Robert McKenzie said one of the wounded, who was flung from the bakkie as it rolled, sustained critical injuries.

The injured were taken to hospital and police were investigating both accidents.
