Mbombela - Sentencing of the two men convicted of killing Ehlanzeni district municipality chief whip John Ndlovu was postponed on Thursday because one of them was ill.

Bongani Mkasi and Mundi Khoza were found guilty of murder, robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition in January this year.

Judge Richard Mabuse was scheduled to sentence the two in the Mbombela Circuit of the North Gauteng High Court on Wednesday.

He postponed the matter to Thursday to allow a weak-looking Khoza to see a doctor.

The court heard on Thursday that Khoza was still sick.

Mabuse postponed the sentencing to 19 and 20 June to allow doctors to examine Khoza.

Ndlovu was killed on 5 January 2011.

He was shot repeatedly near his home in Edinburgh village and driven a short distance in the boot of his car.

His killers left his body on the side of the road.
