NDPP, SIU head soon - Radebe

Cape Town - Appointments to the vacant posts of National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) and head of the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) will be made soon, Justice Minister Jeff Radebe said on Sunday.

"The appointment of the SIU [head] should be by the end of February," he told reporters in Pretoria.

President Jacob Zuma announced in his State of the Nation address earlier this month that all vacant posts "at the upper echelons of the criminal justice system" would be filled, but did not say when.

Radebe told reporters: "It is important to recognise that the length it has taken to make an appointment of the NDPP must be viewed in the context of the prior judicial process."

The post of SIU head has been vacant for over a year.

Only one in 50 hijackings lead to a conviction. Most murders go unsolved and the crimes and misdemeanours of the ANC upper echelons are ignored unless the press becomes involved.

From the response it would seem the minister does not view our criminal justice system to be important as it has taken a year to date and no final selection of candidate named. What a shame minister! Just maybe you have been too busy to attend to these appointments, one wonders why?

"It is important to recognise that the length it has taken to make an appointment of the NDPP must be viewed in the context of the prior judicial process." It takes more than a year? No, really, pull the other one!

What shall we expect from the ANC on these appointments - the usual? The usual lame, uneducated, incompetent, lazy, dumb cadre who has no idea how to do the job and will be sent off after a few months with yet another few million Rand of taxpayer's money for a job badly done....?? I'll bet on it! Nowhere in the history of man (or is that primates), have so many DUMB IDIOTS joined together as can be found in the ANC...

Zuma and his people will employ someone who will be trusted in every respect of the ANC and especially with the Zuma allies.

Imfene.imfene, no it's not the first time that a group of idiots gather together, we saw it with apartheid. How idiotic can you be to build a mansion at somebody else's yard only to have it reclaimed years later. That is what idiots do. This is incomparable to the ANC. sorry.......
