NGOs frustrated by bureaucracy - minister

Johannesburg - Many social development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are frustrated by bureaucratic red-tape, Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini said on Wednesday.

"People have been calling the presidential hotline; others have been setting up meetings with the president to say 'we are frustrated'."

Speaking in Johannesburg, Dlamini said smaller NGOs were struggling because they lacked skills and resources.

"They collapse most of the time."

A bigger effort had to be made in rural areas, where the need for services was great, Dlamini said.

I also would be angry if there is to much red tape getting the money I cheated the government out.

Minister what have you done about it? Or is the ANC holding you back?

The dear minister lost the place on her speech and clearly did not know what she was talking about. NGO's spend millions in rural development and her department is endangering this development with their ill advised distribution of the PEPFAR three funds. NGO's collapsed because DSD is constantly breaking there SLA's and pay late or not at all. The government is not doing much for the welfare of the needy and need the NGO's to do the work on their own and without or with late payments of small contributions to welfare NGO's
