2012-11-13 08:40

Durban - The NSRI in Richards Bay helped to tow into harbour a French yacht that hit a whale two weeks ago.

Three Frenchmen were on board the yacht, reported The Mercury.

The Tiki apparently struck the whale in waters between Mauritius and Madagascar and had engine problems afterwards.

They requested help and South African authorities went to assist them.

Skipper Michelle Riou, 53, Thomas Pascal, 62, and Banbelier Michelle, 65, were in good health.
