Johannesburg - Several ANC members, who did not make the party's parliamentary list, will be leaving to foreign missions soon, including former Cabinet minister Sbu Ndebele, the City Press reported on Sunday.

Ndebele said he was looking forward to his new role as South Africa's high commissioner to Australia at its mission in Canberra.

"I have been in government for 20 years now and it is time for a change," he was quoted as saying in the newspaper.

Also expected to leave was former chair of the National Council of Province's Mninwa Mahlangu, former intelligence boss Dennis Dlomo, former Congress of People MP Smuts Ngonyama, who returned to the ANC, and former chief of state protocol Bruce Koloane.

They would be joined by former president Nelson Mandela's daughter Zindzi Mandela.

The newspaper reported that Mahlangu would replace Ebrahim Rasool at South Africa's embassy in Washington and Dlomo would be posted to Algeria.

Mandela would become an ambassador in Denmark, while Koloane would go to The Hague in the Netherlands, and Ngonyama to Spain.

Clayson Monyela, spokesperson for the department of international relations, told the newspaper he could not comment on the postings until the ambassadors had presented their credentials to their host countries.

Monyela was not immediately available to comment to Sapa on Sunday.
