No ANCYL rallies for Malema

2012-11-26 22:50

Johannesburg - No rallies will be organised by the ANC Youth League ahead of its expelled president Julius Malema's appearance in a Limpopo court, it said on Monday.

Malema is scheduled to appear in the Polokwane Regional Court on Friday on a charge of money-laundering.

The office of acting African National Congress Youth League president Ronald Lamola said in a statement league members had been warned not to organise rallies - either in support of Malema, or otherwise - under the auspices of the ANCYL.

Malema was granted bail during his last court appearance on 26 September.

"Attendance of the court case by members of the ANC Youth League would be in their individual personal capacities," Lamola's office said.

"The ANC Youth League does not have a case to answer for, hence it cannot be party to the court case process."

But the members of the ANCYL, in their numbers, will still be there...right?

      Unfortunately...

      luther.kingsley.5 - 2012-11-27 00:09

Interesting times, I wonder if he will be locked up for good. Probably not, we've seen before how many brass have slipped through the fingers of the law and it will most likely be the same for this instigator and racist. Most importantly, I wonder when we'll see ZERO corruption and criminality from political figures and civil servants, rough guess in about 50 years when the current generation is dead and replaced by a new educated modern black generation.

      Sally Lewitt - 2012-11-27 00:28

      wrong.

      fanie.viljoen.73 - 2012-11-27 05:32

The ANCYL will be there and many others, probably even more members of the media.

      squeegee.pilot - 2012-11-27 06:20

Great timing this. Just ahead of Manuang. As I predicted Juju will be kept busy during the anc conference...

      PrettyUsefulArt - 2012-11-27 07:01

The winds of change are a-blowin'... And not a moment too soon. Dare one hope that the ANCYL is finally seeing what the rest of us see? Nah, might as well hope that the fairies in the garden will make themselves visible to all... sigh. @ Squeegie - you think? Even if you're right, I'm still happy to take my blessings regardless of from whence they come.

Foolish are all those whose wish is to see Malema jailed. That cde is attempting to better the nation by exposing all the illicit deeds done by his fellow comrades and parliament heads. Recall the story of President Bantubonke Holomisa? Remember why he left the ANC? Wake up fellow citizens, this chap is ought bring change. Nevertheless, let's wait and see what will happen on friday and in Mangaung. The bottom line is Malema will come back in the ANC no matter what will occur in Mangaung.

In Malema's words, "IN POLITICS THERE IS NO PERMANENT FRIEND OR PERMANENT ENEMY' Dont allow another mans woes become your misfortunes! Jump ship quickly before it sinks boy! Thats what Lamola has just done!

      shaun.mossop.3 - 2012-11-28 11:01

Young black/white and Angry are both accepted, Any youth should be angry, BEE affects the whole youth, firstly if a young white guy is applying for a job, and a black guy with a lesser qualification will get it. But the it all turns around, once a company meets its BEE standards why continue to hire black people when whites have to pass on 50% and blacks have to pass on 27% even if a black person did pass on the 50% business owners know they have it easier, and know there used to hand outs. What the youth need to realize black or white is our current government is screwing us both. My educated black friends hate the idea of BEE because it makes them look stupid, and the truth is it does. The idea of BEE is to just gain the uneducated black votes but in practice, BEE has no real positive affect on any one, except you one or two BEE diamonds. ANC has failed us and they should be voted out, its just t bad its going to take 50 odd years for people to see that. The ANC cANCer has SA right where they want it, a bunch of uneducated racists.

  • raymond.phakamile - 2012-11-27 07:17

why our own politician, are so corrupt?.

      nigel.burgess.334 - 2012-11-27 07:29

Because the masses regard them as 'Gods' and serve them like loyal subjects, so they take advantage. What is supposed to happen is that government should serve the people, and if they don't, they're voted out of power. It's this last step that the masses haven't caught onto yet. For now, they will remain loyal subjects ruled over by an incredibly corrupt government.

With what money????? You'll rather squander resources on petty stage dressing than actually get off your butts and make a positive contribution to the youth of South Africa - black, white and all the colours that make up the Rainbow Nation.
