Cape Town - No arrests have yet been made after two people were injured in a shooting in Camps Bay last week.

A 28-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman were hit when a gunman opened fire on their car parked on the side of Victoria Road at the Oudekraal Nature Reserve.

Provincial police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk confirmed the shooting took place last week Monday at 19:10.

“The woman was shot in the left forearm, and the [man] was wounded in his abdomen,” he said.

An attempted murder investigation is under way.

Camps Bay Community Police Forum chairperson Bernard Schafer said the motive was not yet known and details surrounding the shooting were unclear.

“This incident is very out of the ordinary,” he said.

“That area is not a popular spot for people to pull over and sight-see.”

Schafer warned motorists to be careful of parking in isolated areas.
