North West MEC condemns protesters

Johannesburg - The North West government has condemned the conduct of protesters who barred an ambulance from entering a village to pick up a patient this week.

No ambulance should ever be stopped by anyone, no matter how angry protesters were about their demands, North West Health MEC Magome Masike said on Thursday.

A pregnant woman died in Southey on Tuesday when protesters blocked an ambulance from entering the village.

The woman urgently required emergency medical rescue services and was supposed to have been taken to Ganyesa District Hospital, Masike said in a statement.

"Although the ambulance was called immediately, it was blocked by protesters for about two hours en route to the clinic. The woman died while her baby survived."

The woman suffered a retained placenta, which resulted in excessive bleeding.

The MEC condemns this but he and his comrades are ultimately responsible for the protests in the first place. These protesters should be venting their anger at these mamparas instead of innocent people.

That woman died as a direct result of your incompetence premier. Please condem yourself!

The MEC should not condemn the protseters, he should condemn himself and all his comrades who are steeling from them, depriving them of life important services, and who are the reason why there is NO standard of education in South Africa. Hand the MEC over to the protesters, and let them deal with him. its easy to condemn people if you sit in a nice office, getting fatter on the peoples money. Aluta continua....for the masses

This is MURDER, they must be arrested (including the MEC etc) and charged. There are many accomplices, all should be charged.

If you pay for services then you can maybe expect some. No need and shame for people to die this way!
