Cape Town - Three women and a man are set to appear in the Brits Magistrate’s Court on Monday for allegedly kidnapping and setting alight a 19-year-old schoolgirl in an apparent romantic revenge attack.

One of the women had allegedly accused Boitumelo Dhlamini of dating her boyfriend, said police spokesperson Captain Paul Ramaloko.

He said the group, aged 20 to 25, allegedly kidnapped her from her school on Thursday and took her to a secluded part of Letlhabile in the North West.

Petrol was poured onto her and set alight.

“The suspects then called police to the scene claiming that the deceased was being attacked by unknown people,” Ramaloko said.
