Johannesburg - A primary school in Davidsonville, Roodepoort is under heavy police presence on Thursday as parents protest outside the school.

According to EWN, Roodepoort Primary school pupils have been unable to attend school for two weeks, with parents demanding the principal’s resignation.

Gauteng police were deployed to the school on Thursday morning.

News24 spoke to officers at Roodepoort police station, but no new information could be given.

It is alleged by one user on Twitter that the matter could revolve around racial discrimination at the school.

Twitter user Lungisa claimed his nieces were once asked to leave the school after being racially abused.

The school could not be reached for comment on Thursday.
