Johannesburg - A patient was killed in a ward at Durban's
Addington Hospital after being assaulted by another patient on Friday, the
KwaZulu-Natal health department said.
The attack happened in the early hours of Friday morning,
spokesperson Sam Mkhwanazi said.
Police were investigating.
Health MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo sent his condolences to the
patient's family.
He called for a briefing from hospital management and
directed that an internal investigation be instituted.
