Durban - A 28-year old pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a bus in Durban’s South Coast Road on Tuesday morning, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokeperson Chris Botha said the man, who had sustained multiple injuries, died before paramedics arrived at the accident scene.

It was not immediately clear how or why the man ended up in front of the bus.

Police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane said he could not comment on the cause of the accident.

“We can confirm an accident but police are still at the scene. We will respond as soon as we receive the information,” he said.
