Johannesburg - Four men were arrested in Potchefstroom on Sunday morning after stolen property worth several thousand rands was found in their possession, North West police said.

Captain Amanda Funani said the men, aged between 27 and 32, had allegedly robbed several flats in a complex.

Police were called to the complex after a woman arrived home to find her flat had been ransacked. Security guards informed police that the men were visiting a flat in the same complex.

"Police searched the flat that the four thugs were visiting and found [what they suspected were] the stolen goods," Funani said.

She said police thought the syndicate was linked to other cases of house breaking as well as theft from cars in the complex.

The four are scheduled to appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
