Police called into volatile Cape Town township

Johannesburg - Two people, including a 14-year-old boy, were killed in Masiphumelele, Cape Town on Tuesday, Western Cape police said.

Residents protested after the boy's murder and set a police van alight, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said. 

An unidentified man was found near the police van.

Public order police were brought in to restore calm.

Rwexana said the motive for the boy's murder was being investigated.
