Cape Town - Police have blocked the road to Granger Bay but students' spirits are up.

News24 reporter Jenni Evans said a man on a megaphone told students that only three people will be allowed onto the Cape Peninsula University of Technology's (CPUT) Granger Bay campus. The man told students they should choose three representatives.

She said a helicopter was keeping watch overhead.

"Students are saying all of them should go in or nobody goes in," said Evans.

"Police have linked arms."
