Bloemfontein - Police are looking for a Brandfort tavern owner who slaughtered 11 stolen sheep, police said on Friday.

Constable Werner van Tonder said police received information that a Majwenasweu tavern owner was slaughtering sheep at her business on Wednesday afternoon.

The local stock theft unit investigated and found the meat of six slaughtered sheep in a fridge and the skins of another five sheep at a nearby dumping site. The sheep were worth about R33 000.

Van Tonder said the woman fled when police arrived and they were still searching for her.

A case of 11 stolen sheep had been reported at a nearly farm the previous day.

So nice to just take freely what isnt yours! Her tavern is probably illegal too!

now, now, Shirley. Thats like saying a corrupt person is incapable of standing for economic freedom. Or a communist cannot drive a 7 series BMW. Or a murderer cannot be the Crime Intelligence boss. Or a union cannot own shares in a company. Or the ruling party cannot own shares in companies that win government tenders.

She fled...when the police approached. Did she flap her wings and fly away.? Or did they not bother to chase her while loading the beer?

      shirley.steenkamp - 2012-09-21 12:40

3 guesses! They are probably some of her best customers!

11 stolen sheep to the value of R33 000. That is R3000 a sheep. That's about R200 per kg. Let's gooi 'n braai. You bring the meat.
