Polokwane - The Polokwane Magistrate's Court is expected to deliver judgment in a bail application by Limpopo businessman Rameez Patel on Thursday.

Patel, who is out on bail after allegedly murdering his wife Fatima in April, was arrested on a second murder charge in July after Tony Adams was found beaten to death.

Adams was killed in 2013 after allegedly trying to break into the home of Patel's parents in the suburb of Nirvana.

At the start of his bail application on Tuesday, Patel said he should be released so he could take care of his three children.

State prosecutor Madelein Roloefse argued that Patel should not be released on bail as he had already been found interfering with State witnesses.

She told the court that Patel had instructed his nanny to change a statement made to police in connection with his wife's murder case.

Patel denied this through his lawyer, Tumi Mokoena.

Mokoena also argued that if his client had violated bail conditions, his bail should have been withdrawn.
