Johannesburg - A man was sentenced to 20 years in jail by the KwaZulu-Natal High Court in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday for killing a Catholic priest.

Siqiniseko Dlamini, 21, was sentenced to a further 10 years for robbing the priest, Senzo Mbokazi, 35, KwaZulu-Natal police said in a statement.

The sentences would run concurrently.

Two other accused, Khulekani Mbatha, 19, and Mduduzi Mabaso, 26, pleaded not guilty to the crimes and would appear in the KwaZulu-Natal High Court sitting in Mthunzini on Monday.

Mbokazi was stabbed and strangled in the Magwaza Mission, in Melmoth, in November 2011.
