Prosecutor's wife murdered

2012-05-20 09:58

Bloemfontein - The wife of a senior Welkom prosecutor was found strangled at their house in the suburb of Bedelia, Free State police said on Saturday.

"[On Friday] the body of a woman covered with a lid that covers the pump machine of the swimming pool was found lying on the ground facing downwards," Captain Stephen Thakeng said in a statement.

"Anna Mulutsi, 58, was already dead and it was found that she was strangled. The house doors and her black Toyota Corolla sedan were locked, both keys were nowhere to be found." "Ben Mulutsi [her husband] was attending a meeting in Bloemfontein and on his arrival at the scene, an alarm went off when he unlocked the door.

"So it was clear that she was apparently attacked outside their house," said Thakeng.

"According to a witness, an unknown man carrying a suitcase, used mainly by attorneys, was seen entering the yard... After almost an hour the same ... male person was seen departing the residence with the same suitcase on foot."

Thakeng said a murder docket was opened and nothing was reported stolen.

I am sorry to hear about this, RIP madam. Perhaps the murder of a prominent person like this will make either the world sit up and listen or perhaps just the idol in the portrait will take note too.

Maybe the SPEAR will think twice now before letting people out of prison in exchange for votes, also maybe he would now not fire that 9,000 policemen.

My condolence to the family. Possibly a hit to try and intimidate her husband or a already convicted trying to get revenge. I hope that when they find this person they throw him into a dark deep hole

      Jeffrey - 2012-05-20 11:26

A six foot deep hole would be deep enough as long as he never breathes again.

  • Vic - 2012-05-20 10:14

This is tragic and deplorable to say the least, but what I found amusing about the article was 'the suitcase on foot!'

  • siyadyosiba - 2012-05-20 10:23

suspect is definitely not far from home. i can assure you the husband has an idea of what might have lead to her death. not that i'm accusing him of plotting the murder but he definitely has a clue why it happened. keep us updated news24.

Rip, Lady! What a horrible way to die! May God give the prosecutor, children (assuming they have) and loved ones the courage to carry on and help them through the grieving process. Hope the killer gets caught!

      mimi.ngqulana - 2012-05-20 11:25

Seek counselling Idris, Im sure what U going thru now will pass....! Yr family surely loves U.....!

      Deana - 2012-05-20 12:47

@Idris- I would strongly suggest you go to your doctor and discus the possibility of putting you on anti-depression meds - just to get you through this bad place your in now. Know that you're not alone in whatever you're going through- all you have to do is reach out to the hands willing to help you. Remember that nothing ever crosses our paths that we can not handle through Christ who gives us the strength and courage to face the future bravely. Praying for you, my friend.

      Jacqui - 2012-05-20 12:55

Idris, if you hate your life, then change it, make something worthwhile you can be proud of.

      Tony Lapson - 2012-05-20 13:55

Too much news 24 making you feel down?

      chuma.mhlebil - 2012-05-20 13:56

Geez, hw can u be a proud South African?

      Wally - 2012-05-21 07:50

@ Idris: I do not know you; I do not know your circumstances. I cannot judge you and do not have the desire to do that. All I do know is that you are at a point of your life where you need someone to hold on to; someone that will NOT disappoint you and NEVER forsake you. I am not a psychologist or a preacher...just an ordinary person reaching out to say that I care...I care about you, I care about the state of your mind, spirit and soul, I care about your eternal well-being. If this lady's untimely and horrible death bears the fruit of a saved person, then praise God...and I know deep in my heart that she would have understood what I am trying to say here. You are welcome to Inbox me if you want to just speak to someone. I am praying for you NOW. Do you know God; more over, have you really met Christ Jesus? Do you know God's peace? I am not forcing you, either Inbox me, or speak to a minister of faith at a church, I beg of you. The choice is your's. Christ loves you; as a Christian, I love you.

      Helen - 2012-05-21 08:53

Just as you don't feel now as you felt a year ago, you are not going to feel in a year what you are feeling now. You HAVE to get past this. That means going to the doc, get yourself some meds. I know you don't see the light at the end of the tunnel now, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It means that you just can't see it right now. Share your feelings with your family/friends/doc. You won't believe the support you will get by sharing and letting people have the opportunity to support and help you.

      Jean - 2012-05-21 09:28

Hi Idris, you sound seriously depressed. I suggest you get to a doctor asap or call help line - face your deficiencies and acknowledge them do not let them master you. I did and it helped.
