Johannesburg - The trial of a prosthetist accused of having defrauded the department of labour was postponed in the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crime Court on Friday.

He would be back in court on 8 March next year, the department said in a statement.

Peter Brian Viljoen, 69, allegedly defrauded the department's Compensation Fund of more than R80 000.

Viljoen, from Alberton, allegedly made a claim from the department for supplying a prosthetic to a patient that was provided by a competitor.

He was arrested in October 2010 and released on a warning.
