Johannesburg - The Golden Highway, south of Johannesburg, was partially closed on Wednesday morning when bus drivers parked busses on the road during a protest, metro police said.

Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said only one lane was open on the highway between Finetown and Ennerdale.

"We urge motorists to use the N1 as an alternative route. Police are monitoring the situation but it is calm."

Minnaar said the cause of the protests was not known.

Well...I guess in a way they do, as we all live under black rule. Why so unhappy then ?

Are the government and the police going to allow that the tax paying citizens be held at ransom because of unruly mobs such as bus and taxi drivers who are unhappy? This is not to be tolerated!

Fire the lot..there are tons of people who are desperate for work and to earn a living who would be grateful to have a job. Go an protest outside Zuma's residence or whoever has p*ssed you off and stop inconveniencing the citizens of SA. Cars get damaged by flying bricks, shop windows get smashed, innocent peopleget injured. Why take your frustrations out on innocent people. At the end of the day where does protesting get you? NOWHERE!!!!
