'Quake' sends Bloemfontein into a buzz

Bloemfontein - Free State residents felt tremors last night in Bloemfontein and in surrounding areas like Fauresmith and Aliwal North.

Volksblad reported that social networks on Monday night were buzzing with people talking about what felt like a light earthquake.

Residents reported shaking windows and car alarms going off.

“It’s not the first time! You think funny things when your windows start shaking like that…” said Tim Taylor on Volksblad’s Facebook page.

Jacques Joubert from Bloemfontein tweeted: “@volksbladnuus (Is it the) Stormers coming down to earth?”
