Cape Town - Western Cape residents can prepare themselves for rain on Wednesday as well as later in the week.

A weakish cold front is expected in the province later on Wednesday but would become stronger on Thursday and Friday, reported Die Burger.

According to the SA Weather Service, gale-force winds were expected between Cape Point and Cape Agulhas on Thursday with rough sea conditions from Thursday to Saturday.

The cold front would then move over the rest of the country.

Forecasters said nights in the Western Cape would be cold.
