Cape Town - Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to wind up his official trip to China on Friday.

Ramaphosa has been in China since Monday. His trip culminates on Friday with several meetings in the city of Shenzhen.

In a statement on Thursday, the Presidency said that during Ramaphosa's stay in Shenzhen, he would be visiting the world's third largest container port, among other things.

"Ramaphosa is visiting China with specific reference to economic and trade matters and to study how state-owned enterprises can be utilised to promote economic growth and address challenges of poverty and unemployment in South Africa.

"In this regard, Ramaphosa visited several Chinese state-owned enterprises to see how South Africa could utilise the Chinese model in its own re-industrialisation process," said the Presidency.

Ramaphosa, who is part of a South African delegation to China, will return to the country on Saturday.
