Port Elizabeth - A desperate Eastern Cape family has offered a R50 000 reward for the safe return of a Nelson Mandela Bay teacher who went missing just over 24 hours ago.

Jayde Panayiotou, 28, was last seen at about 06:30 on Tuesday outside her residential block, Stellen Glen, in Deacon Road, Kabega Park, reported

She had been waiting for her daily lift to Riebeek College Girls’ High School in Uitenhage where she is a teacher.

Panayiotou’s sister told the PE Express that her sibling was last seen wearing a grey jacket, black trousers and black boots.

She was not at the complex when her lift arrived and money appears to have been withdrawn from her account at an ATM in Kwanobuhle, a township near Uitenhage, police spokesperson Warrant Officer Alwin Labans told The Herald newspaper.

A family member, Peter Becker, told the newspaper they just want her back.

In a post on her Facebook page, Panayiotou’s sister, Toni Inggs said: "All i can do is hope and pray that my sister will be home unharmed and well today! There are absolutely no words to describe how we all feel waiting every moment, every second for news, any news on the wellbeing of my beautiful sister! [sic]"

Anyone with information can call the Kabega police station on 041 397 6801, Inggs on 076 526 7174 or Becker on 082 654 4334.
