Cape Town- Allegations that the body of missing Hanover Park child Shasha-Lee November has been recovered are not true, a Cape Town community leader told News24 on Thursday.

“A lot of people have been making accusations, saying that the child is found dead. That’s not true,” Ricardo Sedries said while out on the street with fellow residents.

"We are still busy with the search. There are no results yet.”

He said there were around 100 individuals - from the police, community and non-government organisations - who continued to search for the 6-year-old girl who went missing four days ago.

The Pink Ladies’ Dessie Rechner told News24 that they had partnered with the police and “hundreds of people” from various sectors were assisting.

Shasha-Lee was last seen playing with friends near her house on Sunday afternoon.

Western Cape police said her disappearance was only reported to them on Monday and said officers looking for her had set up a joint operation centre at Phillipi police station. They were also circulating information.

Rechner said anyone with information about the girl could contact the Pink Ladies on 072 214 7439 or 021 690 1500.
