SA Olympic coach in child sex case

2012-05-09 11:21

Durban - A father has told the Durban Regional Court how his daughter was sexually abused by a sports coach currently training Olympic athletes in Europe.

The father also said the sports coach had offered his daughter to another athlete for sex, reported the Daily News.

This athlete told the father about the offer, which alerted them to the sexual abuse of his 14-year-old daughter.

The coach, a 41-year-old man, faces allegations of sexual assault, sexual grooming and sexual exploitation of a child as well as possession of child pornography. He may not be identified as he has not yet pleaded.

The girl’s parents turned down an offer of an Olympic scholarship for their daughter after becoming suspicious of the coach’s intentions.

The father said his daughter had received inappropriate SMSes from the accused.

The man told the court that he and his attorney had come up with a plan to lure the man back to South Africa so he could be arrested and face charges.

ARRHHH!!! This make me so angry. People who abuse their privileged positions to abuse children need to get an extra ten years added on to their jail time.

      Felix - 2012-05-09 12:23

And take away their lube. Let them feel the hurt.

What concerns me is the report stated that the father made a plan to lure the person back to South Africa. Should not have reported on this until the alleged offender is here.

I was thinking the same thing Ekfeugo.

Squeegee You took the words out of my mouth It is well known that quite a number of these so called coaches and mentors ,sports stars etc being idolized who have access to young people prowl on then and take advantage of their naive youth

      Greg - 2012-05-09 13:25

      AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-05-09 18:35

It's disgusting how humanity's morals stoop lower than the very graves they should be buried in. Sexual abuse on the girl was not good enough, he just had to go and groom her for another sadistic paedophile friend. The father told the court that he and his attorney had come up with a plan to lure the man back to South Africa so he could be arrested and face charges. If that perve browses news media sites apart from child porn, than the chances of this is slim.

Child pornography is now alarming; from sports coaches to DA Councillors, scary!!

      Stirrer - 2012-05-09 12:22

Careful, Lerato, nobody has found child porn on the DA councillor's computer, although the police is checking it. Adult porn is not illegal. However, the way the ANC is screwing the entire nation, children included, is appalling.

      Fred - 2012-05-09 14:01

@Lerato - trust you to make this a political grandstand. You should be ashamed of yourself, but then again, you probably have no idea about morals.

      Tamaranui - 2012-05-09 14:17

Lerato,, Me thinks a call to my Police pal from Limpopo will help liberate this Crim.

      Lerato - 2012-05-09 14:25

@Fred if the collection of child porn are morals, then yes I'm guilty for having no morals!

      Vandross - 2012-05-09 16:43

Lerato don't be discouraged by thumbs down. You know human nature so resistant to the truth. The investigations are on concerning DA and child porn but they don't wanna hear anything wrong about DA. You would get a million thums up if the child porn was some how related to the ANC officials. These are to some extend a little brainwashed and retardet

things like this make me sick!- parents place their trust in these professionals to help their children, only to have them abused !!!- reminds me of last night's CSI(same thing)- those poor kids end up thinking its their fault and are too scared to say anything for fear of being kicked out, Its their future as a "sports star/ olympic medalist" thats at risk, - I hope this guy ends up just like the abuser on CSI last night- DEAD!

It's sad when our country is turning into a sht hole

  • AnthonyfromAfrica - 2012-05-09 17:07

Again, a person well known to the child, and someone in "authority" and than using the oldest trick in the book===Promises !! Promises to make her a film star, promises to show her Paris, in this case, a Promise of a gold medal !!! The better the relationship is with your child, girls AND boys, the sooner you will detect there is something VERY wrong !!!!
