Durban - Ten people, among them pupils, were injured when a bakkie and car collided on the R603 near Umbumbulu in KwaZulu-Natal on Wednesday.

EMRS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said the crash happened at the Umbumbulu and Lucky Dube Road junction.

“Paramedics from KZN Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash and found that 10 people had been injured. Seven of the patients were pupils.

“The patients were treated for serious and minor injuries at the scene by the paramedics before being transported to hospital by ambulance,” he said.

McKenzie added that the cause of the crash was unclear, but that police on the scene were probing the accident.
