Johannesburg - A man accused of speeding on the N1 near Midrand appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Gauteng traffic spokesperson Busaphi Nxumalo said David Hack, 55, would be back in court on 7 August.

His son, Adam Hack, 20, pleaded guilty to reckless and negligent driving on Monday and was fined R1 500 for driving at 188km/h.

Both men were arrested on Sunday for speeding in their Porsche GT3s. David was driving at 234km/h, ahead of Adam.

They were charged with reckless and negligent driving, with an alternative charge of exceeding the general speed limit of 120km/h.

Yo, if his father did 234km/h in a 120 zone, the other day a person got R80 000 doing 212 km/h. I think he is sweating now, if you take the same ratio, his fine must be R140 000, lets wait and see

Give him a fine that is worked out on the following principle. What is the percentage that he exceeded the speedlimit...what is the value of his car... As an example... he drove 30% more than he is allowed, and his car is valued at R1mil... he should get a fine of no less than R300 000. In this instance he almost doubled the 120km speed limit... imagine what his fine could have been... I think that should make a dent in, not only his pride, but his pocket...

Isnt it weird that they are only catching the "rich or Famous" But not the street racers?

Not fair, I was fined R500 for driving at 73km/h in a 60km/h zone. If I drove any slower I would have been going backwards.
