Security officers robbed of guns, cash

Cape Town - Four armed men escaped with guns and money when they hit a cash-in-transit vehicle at Pick n Pay in Parow on Saturday morning, Western Cape police have reported.

Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Andre Traut said the gang struck at 08:50.

“During the collection of cash boxes at a grocery store in Parow, four armed suspects robbed security personnel transporting cash of their firearms and an undisclosed amount of cash,” he said.

“No shots were fire and no injuries were sustained.”

No arrests have yet been made and the incident is under investigation, Traut confirmed.
