It's time that some control over these taxis are taken. Before they leave, the taxi should be checked that it does not exceed the limit of people allowed in it and that the weight of the baggage does not exceed the limit. The driver should hand over one of three discs to condfirm that the taxi has undergone a mechanical and safety check the day before for this particular trip. One disc remains in the taxi in a file for the trip and the third one to be handed in at their destination. The taxi should be checked again before departing on their return journey. Either the local taxi owners should fall in with this, or there should be a fleet of taxis run by a company on the same basis as trains and buses with the same rules, regulations etc with all bookings to be made and tickets bought through this company. These taxis that are used locally to ferry people back and forth to work etc, should also have strict rules and regulations. If they do not comply, well they are to be removed from the roads and given a choice to join. If caught again without joining, the vehicle is impounded. Finish and klaar.
