Johannesburg - Six people were arrested after a man was shot dead and a teenager was wounded, in Maitland, Cape Town, on Tuesday, Western Cape police said.

Captain Frederick van Wyk said a 22-year-old man was killed and a 16-year-old was shot in the lower body by gunmen who fled in a white car.

A description of the getaway car was broadcast to all police vehicles and around 15:45 the Maitland flying squad spotted it and arrested the six occupants.

A 7.65 pistol with one live round was recovered.

The suspects, aged between 22 and 63, would appear soon in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court, Van Wyk said.

After following the news rather extensively in the past while, I've come to the realisation that I live in a very small, very protected bubble and have no idea whatsoever how others live. Thanks be for small mercies, I guess.

The act of a 63 years old can only mean that he is a drug dealer or drug addict.

Mr. One foot in the grave should be spending his last years with his family, not killing others. I bet he's first in line for his pension at the end of the month though.

63 year old lol ! No wonder why the madam’e want the army deployed in Cape Town, looks more like a whole generation of criminals. In the meantime I suggest that madam'e use her internal resources, deploy Mazibuko to sit on this old fart, that will teach him a lesson.
