Bloemfontein - The Free State family killed on their farm near Lindley will be buried in the town on Thursday, the Volksblad newspaper reported.

The Potgieter family, from the farm Tweefontein, will be buried in one grave.

Attie Potgieter, his wife Wilna and their 3-year-old daughter Willemien were murdered on their farm a week ago. Potgieter was stabbed, while his wife and daughter were shot.

Potgieter's father Andre said the families decided to bury the couple and their daughter together because they died together.

A memorial service would be held at the Lindley NG church for the family, the report said. The funeral would be at the Lindley cemetery.

Regional Free State agriculture representative Johan van Tonder said the families had asked that no organised event by political parties or other groups be held during the funeral.

"To them it's a private event and they want to greet their children in peace," Van Tonder was quoted saying in the report.

I wish time travel was in any way possible. having considered all options the methods used in the so-called crime - butchering of their victims to me seems like a trend taking place and it has very little to do with crime per say. Its happening just to often to believe its just crime and all are using the same methods. Its not done in such a way to provoke international attention but played against the word crime and legacy of the oppression faced by the masses. The following question should answer any inquisitive mind. Why are these acts conducted by people who grew up in the country after 1994. mainly youth? Why are the victims chopped to pieces with pangas. Why is this happening so often is not even news worthy these days. Why use this sort of tactics when your victims are old or even so young that they could never defend themselves against this sort of violent acts. It seems that there is almost some form of joy derived if you consider the corpse after the attack. The motive for the attack, almost always does not justify the actions (don t kill like that for a wallet, cellphone or wage dispute or kill some one because he deducted 200 rand from your wages, does not make any sense - why have the ccma. I think we are really very gullible if the majority of people believe that these sort of crimes are not in any way race related - why would a person who did not grow up under apartheid want to kill in this way . There is much more to this than meets the eye - or what they want to blew it off against - crime Yes! Just some fruit for though
